I got hpv a year and a half ago because my boyfriend cheated on me. We broke up and I found someone else not knowing that i had it, even though i regularly got tested just to be on the safe side. I got pregnant by him and we have a 5 month old daughter together. When I got pregnant, mine went away and haven't come back yet. His only got worse. Now we just broke up and he is threatening to tell everyone we know about it just to make sure I can't go after any of our friends. I want to be able to move on, but, i feel so tied down to him because of this. I feel like I have to be with him just so I won't hurt anyone else. There needs to be a dating service or something for us so we don't have to hope that whoever we like may already have it.

Look into cidofovir cream. It kills the virus. That doesn't mean that it's completely gone from your system but it does seem effective in specific locations. There are instructions on how to make it out there and any doctor can prescribe it for you.

I was just wondering about the emotional aspects of this disease. How can i feel better. It's all well and good to tell me to accept and move on and roll with the punches, but i'm tired of not being able to cuddle and kiss and basically feel normal again. I'm scared to touch my friends or shake hands(i have them on my hands and in my mouth). I can't touch kiss or anything until they are gone. I'll tell ya, I'm feeling kinda quazimodo and i was wondering if i should wear gloves and not share cigarettes. AAAAHHHHHHH it sucks not touching anyone.

HPV is a virus. HPV virus is like a cold or the chicken pox. You get it, you may develop symptoms and then your body usually fights it off and the virus becomes supressed (ex. if you have had the chicken pox, you still carry the virus, but you are no longer able to catch it or get it again). This means that you will probably no longer show any more signs of the HPV virus. But, you can still spread it to someone else that has not been exposed to it. In some cases, out of all the millions who have this virus, some people will not be able to fight off the virus and it can lead to or help cancer build up in the body (cervix in females). But, with close care and regular paps and/or colposcopy, females have the power to virtually never die of cervical cancer (if it was related to HPV). Condoms do not protect fully against HPV, and most continual symptons of the virus that reappear are due to reinfection (getting HPV from another person and it being a different strain of the virus). Hope that this info was helpful to anyone freaking out about something that in most cases is not a big deal. Also, warts go away after treatment and usually do not reoccur after your body fights off the virus.
