I am all smiles. Twice this week I have received messages from ER physicians who diagnosed Lemierre syndrome. Both of the physicians are readers and suggested that my blogging about Lemierre syndrome made a difference in their thought process.
Often blogging is a selfish process. I started blogging to help my own writing. Blogging was so new that I had no idea that I would attract readers. As readership has grown, so have I. Blogging has helped me greatly. I write better and I think more carefully about health care issues. I have several publications that would not have occurred without the impetus that this blog provided.
Knowing that ones words actually educate readers and make a positive impact on patient care gives me pleasure that I cannot describe. I hope that both patients have smooth easy recoveries. I think the ER physicians for reading and especially for writing to tell me their stories. I hope through my blogging we will soon get to the point where no one considers Lemierre syndrome a forgotten disease any longer.

Thanks again. I will follow.

The more awareness, the better. I am a Lemierre's survivor myself, and I am so glad you are out there spreading the word. Keep it up!
