Evan Falchuk has hit another home run. He writes What Really Matters. He does not talk about performance indicators. He does stress 3 things:
1. You want your doctors to pay attention to you.
2. You want your doctor to give you answers to the questions you are asking.
3. You want your doctor to give you the confidence that they are going to take the best care of you or your loved one that they can.
Our bedside manner really matters. Patients brag about their physicians when those physicians follow these 3 rules.
We must teach this to trainees. We must live these rules ourselves.
