About a patient with pancreatic cancer

Recently our publication relations expert asked if I would talk with a reporter about doctor patient communication.  He told me that a reporter at the small city paper in Anniston, Alabama was doing a story about a patient who had a recent diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.  I agreed and spent about 30 minutes on the phone with a reporter.

Talking with reporters causes some anxiety.  You hope they will quote you accurately.  Sometimes reporters hit a home run.  I have a very small part of this article and I applaud the reporters for writing an important and moving story.

The other side: Medicine has many stories … this is Kenny Callahan’s

All I can say to Laura Tutor is – well done.
