Agree totally, but we will need to find a better term than "Concierge Medicine." It sounds too French (yes I know, because it is French). Maybe "Patient Centered Medicine." Or "Medicine with no 3rd parties sticking their noses into your Healthcare and driving up the price with no benefit to you." That's catchy, don't you agree?

The best definition of <strike>Liberal</strike> Pregressive: Someone so generous and thoughtful that he would give you the shirt off my back.

JB -
Funny you mention that. I've heard others describe our current system as "the best healthcare someone else can pay for."
Concierge medicine has the potential to change this paradigm. Cash up front or no appointment. Can't really get around that one.

Correction:
Patients want our time and are willing <strike>to pay for</strike> to have someone else pay for that time.

Too many patients, not enough time too many forms, not enough reimbursement -- I get it! But would it hurt that much to take a quick look at my chart before you come into the room? I can remember the important things to "remind" my doctor of. But what if I was older, or sicker, or not as savvy?

I don't think DB would support anyone having a blind trust in any doctor. I certainly don't believe you should. People should be allowed to vote for doctors with both their feet and their money in a much freer manner than they are currently in the U.S.

I hope that DB will help my generation of physicians-in-training to develop ethical and practical methods of being a physician as both a vocation and an avocation--all while providing high quality care to patients.
