guys...if you're doing a yogurt diet of only eating yogurt and loosing pounds fast, that's really not good for your body. You need to choose a diet that you can stick with for a long time or else the weight WILL come back and your metabolism will get really messed up. trust me. going on a full on yogurt diet or a full on anything diet for that matter will not help you in the long run. diet and exercise, come on, it never really was more complicated than that.
on another note, i totally love yogurt and it's health benefits are awesome. so yeah, it's a healthy alternative to the vending machine crap, but don't base your diet around just one food.
happy dieting! (:

WebMD has a great article on this: http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/french-womens-diet-secret-yogurt
"A study published in the April 2005 International Journal of Obesity looked at obese adults who cut 500 calories a day while consuming three daily servings of low-fat yogurt. It found that they lost significant amounts of fat, especially around the waist, while maintaining lean muscle tissue. The three-yogurts-a-day group lost 22% more weight, 61% more body fat, and 81% more stomach fat than a comparison group who ate just one serving of yogurt daily."

By the by, I love Cabot's Low-Fat Greek Style Vanilla. Add fresh fruit and it's just like eating cheesecake! Yum!

Greek yogurt is the best it's high in calcium and protein... There's hardly any sugar in this yogurt maybe about 7 grams and it's all natural non of that unhealthy sugar substitude like splenda, aspartme. The thing with greek yogurt you can add fruit I like it with strawberries, blueberries, and some slivered almonds and touch of honey. So far I have lost 20 pounds in a month. The best ones out there are fage, chobani, and oikos!

Hello All,
I have been over weight for many years since my multiple pregnancies. In March of 2009 I found out that I have Fibromyalgia. At that point I decided that I needed to do something different with my life and body.
I have been eating the 0% Fat Fage Greek Yogurt, and the single servings of Cho Bani Greek Yogurt. Also oatmeal with fresh bluberries, or dried fruit daily.
Here is a great creation that I came up with and I have been loosing weight faster than ever!
1 can Costco canned chicken
0% Fage Greek Yogurt
Chopped celery
garlic powder
dill weed
black pepper
(sometimes I also add the salt free seasonings as well)
Mix all together and either top over a bed of lettuce or just eat alone. Its great tasting and great for you! I feel so much more energized as well!
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Hi - am SUPER lactose intolerant. Finally found a great yoghurt for me!!!
Whole Foods carries a Green Valley brand that is great - I get the plain
and add a bit of molasses and cinnamon. Also get the vanilla to splurge.
They also have fruit types but I like doing my own with plain. Yay - finally
a lactose friendly yogurt on the market!!!

I highly recommend making your own yogurt. It is unbelievably simple. I use an electric yogurt maker but you don't even have to use one if you cannot afford one (they are very inexpensive). You can add fruit, syrup, etc. to it. I use a Yo Life yogurt maker but others work too and are just as easy to use. It is fresh, healthier and less expensive than buying the good, healthier yogurt (like Stoneyfield - which I do like) at the store. Google how to make it on the intenet. Blessings!

I like to do the three day yogurt once in a while for health purposes. I am not over weight, or feel chubs. I just like giving my system a break from food so that it can perform better. For three days i eat nothing but yougurt. Usually one drinkable yougurt (Glen Oaks) because it's my fav, but when ever it's not available I'll grab what ever looks the yummiest. So far that has always helped me great whenever I do it. I don't check to see if I loose weight or anything, but maybe that happens too.

I'm trying to find out the affect that changing milk to yogurt has on the sugar content of the milk. I know that people who are lactose intolerant can eat yogurt because of the change that takes place when you change milk into yogurt. My husband is pre-diabetic and we are watching his sugar intake. Can someone out there help me?

I eat a lot of greek yogurt these days, mainly for breakfast...plain, no fat and I put honey on top. Last March I started limiting my calories to 2000 a day and my sodium to 2000 mg a day....so far I've lost 126 lbs....I'm almost 62 and it feels great....Most of my protein comes from cheese and the yogurt...although I can eat meat I seldom do....just don't crave it....salmon once a month or so...vitamins and some supplements.....lots of days I have to make myself eat more calories because I'm only in the 1200-1400 cal range and it's getting late. Still hard for me to believe...I guess I should mention that I also quit smoking cigarettes and without them, I didn't enjoy drinking...it was like slaying my demons....the alcohol was the biggest
